I was watching "A Haunting" this weekend (I had a bunch of them on the DVR), and I've noticed that they're very fond of ascribing at least some of the problems of the people being haunted in their stories to demonic activity.

While I think such a thing is possible, I don't really think it's all that prevalent. And I've never seen anything to give me real evidence of it.

Has anyone else here seen any evidence of demonic activity?

I'm not Christian, although I was raised Catholic. Quotes from scripture prove nothing to me, but if you've actually seen an exorcism, I'd be willing to consider unusual happenings involved with that as evidence. And anything else, from any religious background (or none, if that's possible) is also something I'd consider as real evidence. Essentially anything you've got, as long as it doesn't just amount to "the Bible says..."

What do ya'll think? Is there such a thing as demons?

I have no evidence of demons and I wuld be quite sceptical of any haunting ascribed to such. Intensely negative and very active ghosts/spirits, yes, those I do believe in.
Did you see the show on Waverly Sanitorium last week? Wicked place that, I'd love to go on a ghost tour there.

Ghost Hunteres has done a show on the Waverly. These are the guys from TAPS (the two guys from RotoRooter who are also paranormal investigators) who work on detection and explaination of activity.

The whole place looked real creepy and they were able to get at least a bit of things that they could call "possible evidence" and they did have some things that basically creeped them out. The final conclusion: it's haunted.

I love watching Ghost Hunters because they go in to prove it's not and they work on that. They've told some owners "no, it's not haunted, you're having people doing things or the wind, or..." There was one case in a hotel where it looked like bed covers in a room were turned down by an unseen hand. They thought it looked good until they slowed the tape up. The people who did it cut the camera off, someone else laid on the floor behind the bed, the camera was turned back on, the person on the floor pulled down the covers on the bed.

Thing was, once they looked harder, the hand and shadow of the person on the floor was seen. Busted.

I've had an angry "neighborhood" ghost back in my home town that had some really nasty energy but I would not classify him as a "demon" though.

No, I didn't. I might see if it's one of the ones I have on DVD, though.
